Achievements

     Steve Stein participated in numerous successful projects. His position has ranged from development over management to conceptual work and strategies.
His recent activities as chief information officer focus on the development of strategies and concepts for online business ventures or the preparation of international technological partnerships. He evaluates and determines the technological feasibility of corporations and plans the further development and implementation of new features into the technological framework.

     Mr. Stein was assigned team leader and project manager for mixed teams of developers and designers. He created roadmaps, defined milestones and organized resources for agile and structured processes. In consultation with business and customers he planed release cycles and authorized developments.

     He had been responsible for the development and implementation of websites and portals based on pure HTML and/or content management systems. He transcribed customers requirements into algorithms and produced sophisticated information systems that meet the clients need and facilities.

Direction & Control

     Steve Stein was CTO & CIO of Interti GmbH a Berlin based Start-Up that distributed niiu, the first individualized newspaper. In his position as Chief Technology Officer Mr. Stein developed the information technology strategy of the company. He supervised a Suisse development agency, planed international partnerships and organizeed technical resources.
Mr. Stein created concepts for information architecture as well as strategies for online marketing and social media. He was responsible for all technical cooperations & technology partners and consulted the board of executives in all technology related decisions.
He promoted the further development and optimization of the product line for a seamless and integrated information architecture throughout multiple different platforms & devices.

     Mr. Stein has been in charge of technical operations and development, including but not limited to such as the following tasks:

  • development and maintenance of a fully automated newspaper production system,
  • planing and negotionation of joint ventures with international corporations,
  • lead of an international team of programmers, designer and printing experts
  • concepts and strategies for scalability, content aggregation & processing and cloud based distribution
  • strategies and implementation of native/cross-plattform mobile solutions.

Concepts & Strategies

     Steve Stein has designed detailed concepts and strategies for online business ventures in multiple start-up environments. With a broad background of practical and theoretical expertise Mr. Stein has planned and supervised the realization of sophisticated business/technological solutions and implemented consistent information structures and architectures to information systems and online applications.

     Mr. Stein has been in charge of a variety of complex and challenging assignments. His various projects included the following tasks:

  • definition/development of a REST based API for a social media network,
  • planning and implementation of an application for web enabled mobile devices such as the Apple iPhone and Nokia N-Series,
  • development of an XML based content schemes for Yahoo! Mobile framework
  • integration of the MySpace social media framework for application development,
  • planning of SEO roadmap for large scale trade fair information systems,
  • establishing international partnerships for newspaper content integration in device-independent environments
  • planning and implementation of usability guidelines into an e-commerce and online configuration portal.

Project Lead & Management

     Steve Stein has supervised projects in multiple technological environments. Main aspects of these assignments have been to optimize the use of resources and to implement a consistent release cycle for a profound, yet agile development process. Mr. Stein's function as an intermediary between business requirements and technological feasibilities helps to organize and identify hidden potentials of applied technologies and augments practical but neat solutions.

     Mr. Stein has was responsible for planning, management and control of projects including:

  • Modular newspaper information system implemented with Microsoft's .net and MS SQL technology,
  • Social Network Analysis tools based on PHP and MySQL,
  • web 2.0/Social Media Network programmed with the Ruby on Rails framework,
  • Online portals and websites developed with CMS Systems such as RedDot, SixCMS, Typo3, Joomla & Drupal,
  • Web based applications written in ASP, PHP, Java and Perl.

Development & Implementation

     Steve Stein has been produced various websites and online portals. These projects were implemented through different markup technologies, programming languages and included multiple external libraries and frameworks. Mr. Stein worked with content management systems, programming and design frameworks, databases, effect libraries and administrative software. He conducted unit, front-end and security tests, developed coding principles & documentation and implemented software design principles and architecture guidelines.

     Mr. Stein's most distinguished achievements include:

  • relaunch of a complete federal state government portal consisting of more than 3 dozen administrative bodies and over 500 use-case scenarios,
  • training and assistance of multiple programmers and users in an enterprise content management systems and the
  • design of a basic structure for an XML/XSLT based CMS for public authorities.
