     Steve Stein is an Information Architect currently appointed with ETECTURE GmbH a Frankfurt am Main based company that provides tailor-made software solutions and state-of-the-art technologies for the web. In his position as an Information Architect Mr. Stein develops online concepts and strategies for media corporations. He advises in matters of user-experience and usability and consults in the area of search engine optimization.
Other activities include the design of mobile applications and prototypes as well as research in the area of social media.

     Steve Stein was CTO of two different Internet startups in Berlin and Cologne and shares his experiences as an IT Angel. Education

     Steve Stein is a Master of Science in Digital Media and a Computer Scientist (Diploma). He has been awarded several scholarships and was elected for a distinct venture capitalist funding.

Master Degree: 2006 - 2009

     As graduate student of digital media in an international and intercultural programme at a private institute of the University of Lübeck Steve Stein was awarded several scholarships and participated in different (research) projects. His most valuable experiences are the international and intercultural teamwork in cutting-edge as well as fundamental areas of digital media and human computer interaction. Mr. Stein's master thesis investigated the area of information architecture from a socio-technical perspective.

Diploma Degree: 2002 - 2005

     As an undergraduate student of media informatics Steve Stein obtained a diploma in computer science (major in media informatics) at the University of Applied Science Bremerhaven. He finished his studies one year ahead of time with a thesis on a proposed fundamental structure for an XML/XSLT based content management system.

     Steve Stein graduated Carl-von-Ossietzky highschool in Bremerhaven with majors in Computer Science and English.

Experience

     Steve Stein has gained experience across all stages of the project lifecycle. He has been appointed for various positions within this process - from and concept creation to and development and project management.

Chief Technology Officer: since 2007-2011

     Steve Stein was CTO/CIO for a media company that produced an individualized newspaper. In his leading position he oversaw the development process, establishes partnerships with international companies and was responsible for the overall information architecture in all technological, marketing and user-experience related fields.

     Mr. Stein earlier was interim CTO for a web 2.0 platform in the area of social media networks. In this position Mr. Stein was responsible for the development process and supervised the optimization of the code. He coordinated the implementation of usability improvements as well as security and performance evaluations.

Project Manager: 2009

     As project manager for the frontend development of international trade show organizers Steve Stein supervised the implementation and customization of multi-lingual web portals. Mr. Stein was responsible for the optimization and reorganization of the development process. His special focus were concepts for a consistent information architecture, the implementation of web-usability and the creation of an improved user-experience. Steve Steins assignments also included the development of a roadmap for SEO, social media and strategies for the integration of web 2.0 technologies.

Research & Science: 2008 - 2009

     As research scientist & lecturer for Digital Media Steve Stein held classes in several media related subjects. Various scientific projects covered areas in social networking (online communities), search engine engineering (semantic web) and information architecture (user experience design & usability). His courses included Media Management and Production, Media Design Foundations and Media and Communications. Within his research projects Mr. Stein conducted, evaluated & analyzed large scale information retrieval and advised and managed the development of prototypic implementations.

Consulting: since 2007

     Steve Stein is a consultant for web based services and information architecture, as well as usability, accessibility and security. Mr. Stein advices in the fields of application development, user experience design and search engine optimization.

     During high school Steve Stein gained work first experience during employment as a shop assistant in an electronic store. His tasks were selling and to advice customers. Furthermore Mr. Stein was responsible for the support and repair of customer machines.

     During his military service in the Bundeswehr Steve Stein was appointed as driver of the squadron commander. Besides this task he also supported in different areas of administration and ICT.
